Semi detached house (adjacent to 24 Hamilton Drive) on a prominent corner plot at the junction of Hamilton Drive and Peveril Drive. Built c1890 on an area previously used as garden allotments known as Fishpond Gardens. Part of a group of similarly styled late Victorian villas also including 10, 12 and ‘Parkdale’ on Peveril Drive. Now converted into three flats. Three storeys above ground including attic storey with two storey original rear extension and lean-to. Red brick facades with paler brick used on two storey extension. Render added to base of brick wall at rear. Stone lintels, sills and surrounds to original door and window openings now painted over. Brick / terracotta string courses at storey height levels with corbelled brick eaves at rear. Single storey flat roofed, rectangular and canted brick window bays either side of main entrance doorway with stone lintels, shaft mullions and sills. Gabled roof with clay plain tiles and decorative perforated clay ridge tiles. Prominent painted bargeboards at gables with corbelled raking brick cornice to gable verges on rear extension. Simple projecting timber eaves to main house. Prominent brick chimney stacks with brick relief patterning and corbelled capping. Some original chimney pots missing or replaced. Original casement windows generally with new small casement window opening in side gable. Roof windows added. Doorway added adjacent to original main entrance doorway under original canopy with plain tile roof. Vehicular opening formed in rebuilt front brick boundary wall to create a drive and car parking in the former rear garden area. Although there have been some alterations, the main body of the house remains mainly intact and there have been no extensions to the original building.
