Detached house on corner site c1878, possibly by Hine & Evans, architects. Gothic Revival style. Two storeys plus basement and attics. Red brick with terracotta and ashlar dressings and hipped and gabled slate roof. House now converted into flats. House and boundary walls Grade II Listed. Red brick facades with plinth, sill and first floor bands and moulded brick eaves. Symmetrical front overlooking garden with pair of shallow rectangular window bays. Each bay has pair of windows on each floor with central shafts, including pointed brick arches on ground floor and stone dressings at first floor level. Pair of pointed brick arch windows at ground floor level to pitched roof side extension facing garden. Later box dormers added to roof of each of front bays. Single pointed brick arched ground floor window on projecting, splayed corner on left side of front facade overlooking garden. Prominent square tower porch on angled entrance facade, with 2no. pointed brick arched ground floor entrance openings, datestone above and brick arcaded third stage with pyramidal roof. To right of porch 2no. polygonal brick bays with combination of pointed arch brick windows on ground floor and stone lintels and sills at first floor. To left of porch, two storey canted window bay with similarly styled ground and first floor window arrangements. Two storey extension adjacent to canted bay with traceried timber framing and pargeted panels at first floor level, plus square wooden oriel window on brackets with transomed, ogee headed lights. Part of wall below oriel window now rendered and painted with late 20c cross casement window added. Tall red brick chimney stacks with brick relief patterning and splayed brick copings. A number of original buff ‘Bishop’ chimney pots survive. Stone sill and lintel bands with complete stone surrounds to smaller gable window openings. Stonework now painted. Windows mainly plain sashes. Some window alterations and additions including box dormers to attics. Coped balustrades with 2no. square gate piers adjacent to porch entrance. Brick boundary wall to Park Valley, now rendered. Coursed rubble stone boundary wall with ashlar framed openings to outbuilding in lower part of garden.
