Detached house, c1885-95. House abuts Newcastle Drive on upper part of steeply sloping site. Lower half of original garden area adjacent to Tattershall Drive now separately developed to create 2no. ‘townhouses’ c1970. House now converted into flats. Two storeys plus basement. New door opening formed at first floor level with steel fire escape platform and staircase. Red brick with stone dressings and gabled roof. Single storey flat roofed entrance porch on road front with canted and rectangular window bays overlooking garden. Ornamental brickwork sill and string courses with splay reveals to some window openings. Inset panels to brick parapets over square porch and rectangular window bay. Brick segmental arched head to large staircase window opening on side facade. Stonework details include complete surrounds to a number of window openings plus lintels, head and sill bands and large mullioned window to staircase area with tracery head. Stonework now painted. Gabled roof with prominent double gables on road front. Bargeboards to all gables with decorative half-timbered panel to small gable overlooking garden. Original plain tiles to roof replaced and upper part of red brick chimney stacks rebuilt. Original rainwater fittings replaced and further pipework added. Mainly sash windows originally, some with glazing bars. A number of original sash windows replaced with casements. Prominent staircase window with leaded lights.A number of alterations and additions to door and window openings. Original stepped red brick boundary wall adjacent to Newcastle Drive with plinth, piers and saddleback copings. Original gated openings with red brick piers and stone caps. Additional gated opening formed (late 20c) in boundary wall adjacent to main entrance porch. Small residual garden area adjacent to house with fenced boundary. Original boundary wall adjacent to Tattershall Drive removed during residential development of lower garden area.
